About
David Borges serves as Director of the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS) Systems Engineering Office (SEO). Established in 1984 under the aegis of the G7 Economic Summit, CEOS ensures international coordination of civil space-based Earth observation programs and promotes exchange of data to optimize societal benefit and inform decision making. His Systems Engineering Office provides systems engineering and cloud native geospatial analytics leadership and support to CEOS through management and technical services and the development of tools and products that facilitate systems engineering solutions for societal and economic benefit.
He also serves on the U.S. Delegation, UN Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM), Old Dominion University (ODU) College of Arts and Letters Executive Advisory Board, Digital Earth Pacific Steering Committee, and Digital Earth Africa Technical Advisory Board.
He has previously served as the Associate Program Manager, NASA ESD Disasters Program, and Group on Earth Observations (GEO) Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Working Group Co-Chair.
