Vice President, GE Edison Works Engineering, GE Aviation

As the Vice President of GE Edison Works Engineering, Darin DiTommaso is responsible for the design and development of all new and derivative military engine products, as well as support of existing military engine products.

DiTommaso has over 30 years of experience in the Aviation industry and has held numerous roles of increasing responsibility within GE Aviation in positions spanning preliminary design, product development and certification, as well as revenue service operation.  He has also led the development of GE Aviation’s digital engineering team and GE Aviation’s Vehicle Health Management business.

Prior to his current role in the military space, DiTommaso led GE’s advanced technology department, focused on designing and developing a broad suite of technologies for next generation commercial and military products. 

He attended Purdue University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering.  He came to work at GE Aviation in late 1988.  He subsequently received his Master of Business Administration from Xavier University. 

DiTommaso enjoys taking an active role in the aviation industry.  He is a member of the NASA Advisory Council and Chair of its Aeronautics Committee.  DiTommaso also serves on the board of United Way of Greater Cincinnati.  He is a commercial pilot, and outside of work enjoys spending time with family, flying, traveling, golf and coaching baseball.
