OSDR Chats with Miguel Angel Vargas Cruz on this Latest Publication

Welcome to “OSDR Chats,” an interview series featuring authors of publications that were enabled by the Open Science Data Repository (OSDR). Researchers share highlights and insights into their work, emphasizing the valuable roles played by the OSDR. This newest interview features Miguel Angel Vargas Cruz who discusses his paper “Analysis of the influence of microgravity and space radiation on astronauts’ gene expression: An approach using quantum simulations and fuzzy logic.

Quantum computing unlocks incredible processing power by using the principles of quantum mechanics to tackle problems that traditional computers can’t efficiently solve. This project applies techniques such as quantum and fuzzy logic to deepen our understanding of the effects of the space environment on gene expression. This interdisciplinary approach enables a detailed analysis of gene expression data (OSD-530) available from the OSDR and explores the potential of emerging technologies in space research and bioinformatics.

OSDR recently spoke to Miguel to hear about the highlights of this publication and about how the OSDR and Analysis Working Groups (AWGs) enabled this publication.
