NASA’s missions require employees traveling all over the globe. Foreign travel may be required to support a launch, present at an international conference, train in a remote location, or partner with a country to advance their exploration and space efforts. Therefore, the Agency contracts with a company that provides as-needed medical support to employees should they experience a serious health event while abroad. This support includes all levels of medical evacuation, especially if the employee’s location is remote or in a country that is medically underserved. This approach ensures the health and safety of Agency employees, even when they are working in a foreign location.
