Prisoner of War/Missing in Action Historian to Speak at NASA Glenn

Stephen P. Johnson, Ph.D., will be the guest speaker at the National POW/MIA Recognition Day ceremony held at NASA’s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland on Friday, Sept. 20 at 1 p.m.

Johnson, who was born in Barberton, Ohio and raised in Akron, serves as an historian with the Department of Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office where he researches American ground and aerial losses from WW II, the Korean War, the Cold War, the Vietnam War and the 1991 Gulf War, to recover those who became missing while serving our nation.

Also during the employee ceremony, the Lorain High School Army Junior ROTC will perform the Missing Man Table Ceremony.

An informal media opportunity will be held with Johnson immediately following the program. Reporters interested in attending should contact Jeannette Owens at 216-433-2990 or Jeannette.P.Owens@nasa.gov by 11 a.m. on Sept. 20 to be cleared through security.
