Located at Edwards Air Force Base in the Mojave Desert northeast of Los Angeles, NASA’s Dryden Flight Research Center has been advancing aerospace technology and science through flight research for more than 67 years. As NASA’s Center of Excellence for atmospheric flight, the center performs flight research and technology integration to revolutionize aviation and pioneer aerospace technology, validates space exploration concepts, conducts airborne remote sensing and science missions and supports operations of the International Space Station for NASA and the nation.

The Air Force Space & Missile Systems Center (SMC) is the birthplace of military space and the center of military space acquisition excellence. Its mission is to deliver resilient and affordable space capabilities for the nation. SMC designs and acquires all Air Force and most Department of Defense space systems.
