Apply for a Downlink

The proposal period for In-Flight STEM Downlinks Expedition 75 is Sept. 4, 2025 – Oct. 2, 2025.

In-Flight STEM Downlinks allow participants and facilitators to interact with astronauts onboard the International Space Station. These opportunities are available to both formal and informal U.S.-based organizations.

Expedition 75 In-Flight STEM Downlinks will tentatively occur between July 2026 – Feb. 2027.

IMPORTANT: The deadline for completed proposal submissions is 12:00 p.m. CT on Oct. 2, 2025.  

Virtual Question-and-Answer Sessions

Four virtual question-and-answer sessions will be offered throughout the proposal period. We invite you to attend the session that works best with your schedule to gain answers and feedback on your proposal, Impact Statement, and other parts of the application process.

How To Apply

You must do the following for your application to be considered complete:

  1. Download both the Planning Guide and Expedition 75 Proposal Form.
  2. Create a profile in NASA STEM Gateway.
  3. Register for the Expedition 75 offering.
  4. Upload the completed Proposal Form and supporting materials in NASA STEM Gateway by the proposal deadline – 12:00 p.m. CT on Oct. 2, 2025.
    • Note: Your application will not be evaluated or reviewed if the Proposal Form is not uploaded to NASA STEM Gateway.
