Allison J71 Engine at the Altitude Wind Tunnel

An Allison J71 jet engine is prepared for test runs in the Altitude Wind Tunnel. The 9700-pound thrust, 16-stage axial-flow engine was 16 feet long, 4 feet in diameter, and weighed 4450 pounds. (7/22/1952)
