NASA astronaut Jack Hathaway installs research hardware inside a Powered Ascent Utility Locker

iss074e0603170 (May 19, 2026) --- NASA astronaut and Expedition 74 flight engineer Jack Hathaway installs research hardware inside a Powered Ascent Utility Locker (PAUL) in the International Space Station’s Columbus laboratory module. The PAUL powers, maintains, and protects sensitive experiments launched to space aboard spacecraft such as the SpaceX Dragon. After arriving on the station, the locker is installed in an EXPRESS rack so the experiments can continue receiving power and support for ongoing research.
