The annual Wings Over Houston Airshow takes place at Ellington Field during a fall weekend. On Sunday of the 2015 show, a group of NASA’s Johnson Space Center interns volunteered to help tear down the event upon its completion. In return, Wings Over Houston gave these interns free entry into the show — the first airshow for many. After an impressive performance by the Air Force Thunderbirds, the interns divided into three teams to help clean up Ellington by moving tents, chairs and cones. This event allowed the interns to work together on a task unrelated to their assigned projects and have fun while doing so. Other Wings Over Houston workers expressed their thanks many times to the interns and said they looked forward to seeing them again next year.
