This week in 1971, Apollo 14 launched from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. The mission crew included Commander Alan B. Shepard Jr., Lunar Module Pilot Edgar D. Mitchell and Command Module Pilot Stuart A. Roosa. Here, crew members training for an extra vehicular activity. During two lunar EVAs, Apollo 14’s crew collected 94 pounds of moon rocks and conducted several scientific experiments.
