NASA’s Shuttle Carrier Aircraft 905 carrying Space Shuttle Discovery soars over the Federal Aviation Administration’s control tower shortly before touching down at Dulles International Airport in Virginia on April 17, 2012. Discovery’s final ferry flight took it from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida with low-level flyovers of NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD, and metropolitan Washington, D.C., before landing at Dulles. Discovery was officially turned over to the NASM at formal ceremonies April 19, and went on public display at the Udvar-Hazy Center the following day.April 17, 2012
