A crane swivels slightly to move the roof element over the Crew Access Tower at SLC-41.

A crane lifts the roof of the Crew Access Tower into place at Space Launch Complex-41. As with the previous elements, the roof was built at a construction yard four miles south of the launch pad. The Crew Access Tower will stand 200 feet tall and offer access to the Boeing CST-100 Starliner spacecraft by astronauts, flight crews and ground support teams at the launch pad. The Starliner is under development in partnership with NASA’s Commercial Crew Program. Starliners will launch into space on United Launch Alliance Atlas V rockets. Photo credit: NASA/Kim Shiflett
