Approximately 65 employees from NASA’s Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia, lent helping hands in their community Friday, Sept. 11, as part of the Day of Caring event organized by the United Way of the Virginia Peninsula. In the above photo, Kevin Johnson and Carol Wieseman clean a van that belongs to H.E.L.P. Incorporated, a non-profit organization that offers housing, medical and financial assistance to families in need. Among several other activities, Langley volunteers also organized linens at the LINK warehouse in Newport News, painted the interior of a Boys & Girls Club of America building in Hampton, spruced up at the Downtown Hampton Child Development Center, and painted and patched walls at the Gloucester Mathews Care Clinic.
