Designer: David Faust with concept design from Matt Berry

Year it was designed: 2017

Explanation or story behind the patch: Overall the patch is to reflect how the DC-8 works anywhere in the world. Would have been great to have some instrument probes on and other things but in working with David Faust he came up with a great way to keep it simple. We chose the Diamond shape to help make it stand out from the other circular patches. We have the stars in the background to also show its relation to the satellites in space. Ultimately, we wanted to make sure the plane was the focus and not the world but tie in NASA, Armstrong, and Airborne Science all into one.
