Atlas V Fueling Underway for GOES-R

At Cape Canaveral Air Force Station’s Space Launch Complex 41, liquid oxygen propellant is being loaded into the Atlas V rocket. RP-1, rocket grade kerosene, was loaded on Friday. The single-engine Centaur upper stage is receiving liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen. The two stages will boost NOAA’s Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES-R) to a geostationary position over the U.S.
