Shigehiro Nishino
Shigehiro Nishino, a Japanese physicist, developed a novel design that became a breakthrough in the manufacturing of heat-resistant silicon-carbide microchips. In the early 1980s, Nishino applied for a research fellowship at NASA's Lewis Research Center (now, NASA Glenn), where he worked with engineers to successfully build laboratory equipment that could produce these chips. Fay Maldari
Fay Maldari grew up in the Philippines and moved to Cleveland in 1975 when she accepted a position at NASA's Lewis Research Center (now, NASA Glenn). Maldari was renowned for her resourcefulness and efficiency as a division secretary and for her work in the Air Force Liaison Office at NASA’s Lewis Research Center (now, NASA Glenn), where she helped organize joint NASA/Air Force programs.
