On Women’s Equality Day, we celebrate women at NASA who are breaking barriers and paving the way for future generations.

“The females who have inspired me professionally aren’t ones that hold particularly fancy titles, but rather women who have invested in me by mentoring me, expecting nothing in return. The women who are willing to do the work, because it needs to be done, not because it’s particularly prestigious. The women who are willing to do the right thing, even if it is not the popular thing. The women who look for ways to encourage other women; who lift other women up because they know there’s enough to go around. It’s about character, not necessarily an impressive title or esteemed position.”

“Jennifer Price, my first group lead, is one of these women. From setting aside time to practice interview questions with me, to encouraging everyone around her, she exemplifies honorable character. I have watched her put her head down and do the work, sometimes messy, non-glamourous work, but work that needed to be done. I have never heard her say “that’s not by job”. She has illustrated persistence and is an inspiration to those around her. While working on her own career, I have witnessed her pour into other women who are also working to achieve their own career goals because she believes there’s enough opportunity to go around.”
