Skylab suffered damage during its launch on May 14, 1973, and just ten days after the launch, the first crew had to perform a complex repair during an extravehicular activity. Astronauts practiced the repair in a Neutral Buoyancy Simulator, a water tank that simulated weightlessness, at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama.
