Assembly Operations Lead Artemis II, Orion Production Operations Office, Exploration Ground Systems

Amanda Stevenson is an Orion spacecraft operations engineer and serves as lead for the Artemis II service module assembly in the Orion Production Operations Office at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. She has held this position since October 2020.

Her responsibilities include overseeing the technical progress relating to the assembly, integration, and production operations of the Artemis II service module. Stevenson provides concurrence to the Orion Program that the service module matches the vehicle design and that all identified risks have been minimized.

Experience

Stevenson started her career with NASA in 2013 at the agency’s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio, and transferred to Kennedy in March 2019.

Prior to her current role, she served as an Orion systems engineer and supported the closure and verification of the requirements for the Artemis I European Service Module.

She also served as a program manager and systems engineer for multiple hypersonic propulsion test activities through the Hypersonic Technology Project based at GRC.

Education

Stevenson earned a Bachelor of Science in physics in 2008 and a master’s in aerospace engineering in 2011, both from the University of Central Florida.

Awards

NASA awarded her the Silver Achievement Medal in 2016 for the success of the pilot Rocket University Program at Glenn.

Personal

Stevenson grew up in Winter Park, Florida, and now resides in Orlando, Florida. She enjoys visiting area theme parks and watching horror movies.
