NASA-WSTF
White Sands Test Facility offers two-day instruction in blast overpressure theory and associated fragmentation analysis providing information on the process used to assess risks due to:
- Blast overpressure,
- Shockwaves, and
- Fragmentation.
Course Objectives
Students are trained in existing assumptions and current calculation codes used to assess risk from pressurized systems rupture, which includes ground, prelaunch analyses and launch operational assessments. Topics include
- Stored energy systems evaluation,
- Blast wave dynamics,
- Personnel exposure thresholds, and
- Risk assessments.
White Sands Test Facility is also developing a unique code for the analysis of high-pressure burst and evaluation of resulting fragmentation.
