Amir H. Deylami serves as the Associate Center Director at NASA’s Ames Research Center in Silicon Valley. In this role, he provides executive leadership for enterprise operations, infrastructure modernization, and strategic transformation, including the evolution of Ames into a world-class research and development campus for government, industry, and academia.

Deylami oversees and supports approximately $8 billion in assets and a $1 billion annual operating portfolio supporting more than 3,200 employees, 160 NASA programs, and over 100 public-private partner agreements spanning space exploration, aeronautics, exploration science, and advanced technology. His responsibilities enable mission delivery across NASA’s national priorities while strengthening long-term organizational resilience and operational readiness.

From 2020 to 2022, Deylami dually served as Chief Financial Officer at Ames, where he led financial strategy and operations for the center’s portfolio, as well as the Office of the Chief Financial Officer’s Enterprise Champion for Data Analytics. In 2018, he served as Deputy Chief Financial Officer for Resources at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, supporting a $4 billion operation and a workforce of 6,400 employees to deliver on the nation’s human spaceflight program.

Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at NASA Headquarters within the Space Technology Mission Directorate, leading enterprise resource management and operational integration across major technology portfolios, NASA centers, and external partners during the establishment and growth of a new mission directorate. He also served in the Office of the Administrator, supporting agency-wide performance management, strategic integration, and long-range planning.

Deylami joined NASA in 2009. He is deeply committed to mentorship and leadership development and advises several national and international boards and committees.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and has completed executive programs at Stanford University and Harvard University. He and his wife, Bliss, have two daughters, Alexandria and Zamira.
