NASA Armstrong Office of the Center Director
Oct. 1, 2025: Due to a lapse in federal appropriations, NASA Armstrong is currently operating in a government shutdown status. Only employees designated as “excepted” are authorized to work. All other employees are furloughed and should not report to work or perform any work-related duties unless otherwise notified. Announcements about major events and activities, changes in operational schedules, or updates related to the shutdown will be posted here and recorded to the NASA Armstrong Employee and Events Hotline, 661-276-2777. For additional information, employees may visit www.nasa.gov/shutdown or contact the NASA Shared Services Center at 877-677-2123.
Additional Resources
NASA Armstrong Employee and Events Hotline, 661-276-2777: Recorded messages are being periodically updated and include information about center status and updates.
Monitor News Media: Keep tabs on print, online, and broadcast media for the latest information. At times, this can be dynamic, so check back frequently.
NASA Safe App: NASA Protective Services recommends downloading the NASA Safe App, available for free on iOS and Google Play, to both personal and government-issued mobile devices. All employees and center visitors are encouraged to install the app and opt in to receive center alert messages. During setup, be sure to enable notifications, select Armstrong Research Center when prompted for notification preferences, and allow location access, as some features are geofenced and require it to function properly.
