
Nancy Rustemeyer
Nancy is currently serving as the Science Instrument Development Project Manager for Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy, (SOFIA). She brings extensive program and project management experience to Code PX. She began her career at NASA Johnson Space Center supporting mission operations for the Space Shuttle Program as a cryogenic analyst. In the International Space Station Program, she served as a flight operations engineer, flight controller, astronaut instructor, personnel manager and project manager. She has experience in technical negotiations with the Russian, Japanese, and European space agencies. Nancy also managed numerous projects to develop and advance operational capabilities and technologies for both the International Space Station and the Orion Programs. After transitioning to NASA Ames Research Center, she served as the Rodent Research Project Engineer and Operations Lead for the WetLab 2 Project.
Nancy received her Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, majored in Biology at the University of Houston, and is a Certified Project Management Professional. She has received numerous awards including two Silver Snoopy awards and the Rotary National Award for Space Achievement.
