Daye Hoffman is the program representative for the Launch Services Program (LSP) at Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB) in California. In this role, Hoffman serves LSP equities and customers, while maintaining partnerships with the United States Space Force, United States Air Force, and commercial space organizations.

Since 2024, Hoffman assures overall mission success by leading, managing, and directing LSP activities at VSFB. These responsibilities include planning and scheduling, asset protection, mission assurance, facility systems, and support for launch operations, including launch vehicle preparation and spacecraft integration.

Experience

Prior to his current role, Hoffman served as a contractor for LSP in communications and telemetry from 2008 to 2023. During this period, he held key roles, including mission communications engineer and mission operations director. Hoffman played a pivotal role in numerous technology innovations for LSP, particularly in voice, video, telemetry, and network architecture. His contributions extended to internet protocol analytics, where he leveraged data-driven insights to optimize communication performance and troubleshoot network issues effectively. Additionally, Hoffman was instrumental in the development and implementation of automated system monitoring solutions, ensuring real-time monitoring of communication systems, and reducing downtime through predictive analytics. His work in these areas significantly enhanced the efficiency and reliability of the program’s mission operations.

In addition to his technical contributions, Hoffman represented LSP to external launch partners and spacecraft designers, showcasing the program’s cutting-edge technology developments.  As manager of the Vandenberg Communications and Telemetry Office, Hoffman developed training modules and mentored junior employees in the LSP workforce to ensure continuous technical growth.

Personal

Hoffman was born on Oahu, Hawaii, but has always considered home to be on the central coast of California where he met his wife. They have three children that follow Hoffman’s passion for surfing and the outdoors.
