Anthony A. Facca

Deputy Chief Information Officer

Anthony A. Facca serves as the deputy chief Information officer at NASA’s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland. In this position, he works with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) to deliver information technology (IT) services and solutions in support of the center’s science, engineering, and research initiatives. Prior to his appointment, Facca was the associate CIO for Planning and Transformation, where he led Glenn’s implementation of NASA’s IT Transformation initiative.  

Facca’s NASA career spans over three decades, providing a wide range of center and agency IT solutions. He is a strong advocate for the unique IT requirements of the research community, from enabling users to select devices that best meet their mission-unique requirements, to providing scientific computing, data science, and visualization services to assist in generating knowledge and understanding. 

Facca has held numerous leadership positions within the Office of the CIO, including program manager for NASA’s Emerging Technology and Desktop Standards, chief of the Glenn OCIO Integration Office, and chief of the Glenn Information and Applications Division.  

Facca holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and a master’s degree from Cleveland State University’s Computer and Information Science program. He is a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Facca has received multiple NASA Honor Awards, including the Exceptional Service Medal for innovative and groundbreaking contributions to the design, development, and management of IT systems.  

He is a native Clevelander and a recipient of the Cleveland Federal Executive Board’s esteemed “Wings of Excellence” Award for Outstanding Ambassadors in Public Service. Among other notable acknowledgements, Facca is also a recipient of the Federal Computer Week’s “Federal 100” award, one of the most prestigious awards in federal IT.
