Ben Ashman

Deputy Program Manager for Mission and Stakeholder Engagement, NASA's Space Communications and Navigation Program

Ben Ashman is an aerospace engineer and the deputy program manager for Mission and Stakeholder Engagement within NASA’s SCaN (Space Communications and Navigation) Program.

Prior to his current role, he spent a decade working in the Navigation and Mission Design Branch at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. While at NASA Goddard, he supported numerous missions, including the agency’s Tracking and Data Relay Satellites (TDRS), Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resource Identification, and Security – Regolith Explorer (OSIRIS-REx), Lunar GNSS Receiver Experiment (LuGRE), and the Lunar Communications Relay and Navigation Systems (LCRNS) project. He also was the 2021-2022 Institute of Navigation Congressional Fellow.

Ashman is from Dayton, Ohio, and received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Ohio University and a doctorate in electrical engineering from Purdue University.
