Centennial Challenges Challenge Manager

Ms. Herblet currently serves as a NASA Challenge Manager for Centennial Challenges.  She is responsible for leading the development and execution of numerous multi-phased, multi-million public prize competitions for the Agency at the Marshall Space Flight Center.

Through the Centennial Challenges Program Office, Ms. Herblet supports technology developments under the Space Technology Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters in Washington D.C.  She leads the design and development of novel technical challenges that address the Agency’s technology gaps and provide solutions to enable long term human presence on the Moon and the commitment needed to spur commercial involvement, and builds and nutures diverse communities across the challenge competition portfolio. She is also involved in strategic program support and contributes to the planning for future Centennial Challenge opportunities. 

Ms. Herblet is the Lead Challenge Manager for the Deep Space Food Challenge, which is the first challenge colloboration between NASA and the Canadian Space Agency.  This challenge seeks the creation of novel and game-changing food technologies or systems that require minimal inputs and maximize safe, nutritious, and palatable food outputs for long-duration space missions, and which have potential to benefit people on Earth.

Ms. Herblet was previously an Information and Data Management Specialist with Victory Solutions, Inc., providing open innovation and challenge expertise to the NASA Centennial Challenges Program Office. Prior to supporting NASA, Ms. Herblet was one of the first Project Managers at NineSigma, Inc., and was critical to defining and creating the role within the company.  She secured and managed a portfolio of projects and public prize competitions which consisted of complex, multi-track projects and large-scale programs to assist organizations in the private, public, and social sectors connect with new global technology solutions, knowledge, and partners to accelerate innovation and economic growth.  She was also instrumental in launching the company’s presence in the Federal Government sectors, working on innovation efforts and challenges with agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, and the National Science Foundation.  Ms. Herblet has been the recipient of numerous NASA awards, including NASA’s Individual Silver Medal Award.  She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Cornerstone University and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) ®.
