Special Emphasis Programs

Overall, Special Emphasis Programs (SEPs) are intended to assure full participation of all groups in the federal workforce through workforce analysis, advice and education, recruiting, and outreach. 

NASA Special Emphasis Program Groups:

  • Asian American/Pacific Islanders
  • Hispanics
  • Individuals with Disabilities and Disabled Veterans
  • Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender

JSC also places emphasis on:

Special Emphasis Program Goals:

  • Assist management in the elimination of discriminatory practices
  • To help assure full participation (eliminate underrepresentation) of the target group at all levels

SEP Manager (SEPM) Role

  • Identify policies, practices, and procedures which may present barriers to the hiring, retention and advancement of the target group employees.
