Join NASA Virtually for Resupply Launch to International Space Station

NASA is inviting the public to take part in virtual activities and events ahead of the launch of Northrop Grumman’s 17th commercial resupply services mission for NASA. Northrop Grumman is targeting liftoff of its Antares rocket no earlier than 12:39 p.m. EST Saturday, Feb. 19, from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport’s Pad-0A at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility on Wallops Island, Virginia.
Members of the public can register to attend the launch virtually or RSVP to the Facebook event. NASA’s virtual guest program for this launch includes curated launch resources, timely mission updates, and a virtual guest passport stamp following a successful launch.
Live coverage and countdown commentary will begin at 12:15 p.m. EST on Saturday, Feb. 19, and air on NASA Television and the agency’s website, as well as YouTubeTwitterFacebookLinkedInTwitchDaily MotionTheta.TV and NASA’s App.
Planned space station research supported by this mission includes a study that examines the effects of a drug on breast and prostate cancer cells, a new combustion facility, a system that will test hydroponic and aeroponic techniques for plant growth and allow scientists to observe root growth.
