Antarctic Meteorites

Scientists from NASA, the National Science Foundation, the Smithsonian Institution and the University of Pittsburgh have recovered well-preserved meteorite specimens from the Antarctic. The cold, arid climate left the specimens in a high-quality, uncontaminated state. The meteorites are handled much like the moon rocks returned during the Apollo program and are made available to scientists to study worldwide.

Four self-standing panels, illustrated with photographs and captions about meteorite collection, studies and sources. A bottom-lighted case containing three sections of meteorite embedded in Lucite.
