Hubble Spots a Spiral With a Past
NGC 691, shown in this Hubble image, features intricate details of the galaxy's layers of stars and spiraling arms — which would no doubt amaze astronomer William Herschel, who discovered this galaxy almost 200 years before Hubble launched.
