René-Levasseur Island
iss070e036696 (Dec. 5, 2023) -- In the center of the ring-shaped Lake Manicouagan lies René-Levasseur Island, formed by a crater that impacted what is now Canada 214 million years ago. Sometimes called the "Eye of Québec," the lake circles roughly 750-square-miles (1,940-square-kiliometers) around. As the International Space Station soared 262 miles above Québec, this image was taken.
