iss073e0028436 (May 12, 2025) --- NASA astronaut Jonny Kim conducts research activities for the ADvanced Space Experiment Processor - Industrial Crystallization Cassette (ADSEP-ICC) technology demonstration. This research expands existing space station facilities to hold new types of substances and scale up production of crystals and other commercially relevant materials, such as golden nanospheres. These tiny spherical gold particles have optical and electronic applications that could be used to detect cancer and other diseases.
