The Himalayas separate China from India
iss072e659612 (Feb. 19, 2025) --- The Himalayas separate China in the north from India in the south affecting the climate in both regions in this photograph from the International Space Station as it orbited 261 miles above. The mountain chain blocks moisture and cool air from the south leading to heavy rainfall on the Indian subcontinent while creating arid conditions to the north in China's Tibetan Plateau.
