Fogo Island

iss070e014352 (Oct. 27, 2023) -- Roughly 500 miles (~800 km) off the western coast of Africa lies the Cape Verde island country. One of the southernmost islands in the group is Fogo, home to Pico do Fogo (to the right of the island), an active stratovolcano. This photograph was taken as the International Space Station soared 260 miles above.
