Variable Density Tunnel at Langley

Photographed on May 5, 1931, the man at far right is thought to be Harold J. "Cannonball" Turner, Langley’s longtime safety officer. This view of the VDT clearly shows the layout of the tunnel's surroundings, as well as its plumbing and power needs.
