Jan. 29, 2015 — At Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, the launch of NASA’s Soil Moisture Active Passive, or SMAP, spacecraft was postponed because of a wind shear at 34,000 feet. Managers and engineers now are preparing for a second launch attempt tomorrow, Jan. 30, 2015, at 6:20 a.m. PST (9:20 a.m. EST).
