Explanation or story behind the patch: The NACA became NASA in October 1958. On 27 September 1959, the High Speed Flight Station became the NASA Flight Research Center (FRC). This patch was worn on the back of white coveralls by aircraft maintenance technicians at FRC in the 1960s.
