Mission: Arctic Research of the Composition of the Troposphere from Aircraft and Satellites (ARCTAS)
Climate researchers from the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) and several universities installed and performed functional checkouts of a variety of sensitive atmospheric instruments, including the Chemical Ionization Mass Spectrometer (CIMS) on NASA’s DC-8 airborne laboratory before beginning the ARCTAS mission.March 7, 2008
