Representatives from NASA’s Langley Research Center and outside environmental groups gathered April 22 to observe Earth Day and Arbor Day 2015.

Pictured, left to right, are Kristyn Damadeo, Denise Lineberry and Aimee Amin from the Science Directorate at Langley in Hampton, Virginia. They handed out foam Earth balls and literature on projected climate change impacts for the Hampton Roads region of Virginia.

In addition, they offered visitors the chance to take selfies with an inflatable Earth for #NoPlaceLikeHome, a NASA initiative to have people share pictures and videos of their favorite places using social media.

Other NASA Langley programs with displays included the Office of Education, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Program, Environmental Office and SAGE III-ISS, an instrument that will be attached to the International Space Station in 2016 to study stratospheric ozone.

Newport News Waterworks, Staples environmentally preferred products and Old Dominion University’s Kaplan Orchid Conservatory had displays at the event as well.
