Members of the HS3 team monitored the transit flight of NASA’s Global Hawk No. 872 from the Global Hawk Operations Center. The aircraft departed the Armstrong Flight Research Center in California early on August 26, 2014, and landed at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia approximately 22 hours later on August 27 after the first science flight in NASA’s 2014 HS3 hurricane survey mission.
