“Can I just say, I love NASA because the inner geek in me squeals every time I drive through the front gate. I still can’t believe I work here. It’s like the unicorn of the government and I never thought I would be able to carve a place for myself here. I came here so I could wear the meatball on my clothing proudly. I stay because the people are what make it. I have encountered some of the most amazing people in my time at NASA. It just has a different feel here than anywhere else I’ve worked. It’s radical in its missions. And the Agency is pushing for more diversity and standing as a beacon of hope for future generations.
“I have always wanted to work at NASA. But when as part of my interview they asked two separate questions pertaining to diversity and why it’s so important I knew this was the place for me. Diversity brings growth. You have people from different backgrounds with different expertise coming together. You have to have diversity for great invention. Without it you just don’t grow. It’s like having a garden that’s never fertilized. Knowing how important diversity is to my center, makes me fiercely proud to be here.”
