NASA’s Global Hawk # 871 climbed out after takeoff from Edwards Air Force Base, CA, on its first checkout flight since being transferred to NASA in late 2007. The aircraft was the first Global Hawk built in the original Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration program, and joined NASA’s other Global Hawk, # 872, for high-altitude, long-endurance environmental science missions.May 27, 2010
