NASA’s DC-8 takes off from Ft. Lauderdale International Airport during a science flight for the Convective Processes Experiment (CPEX). The mission sought to better understand how convective clouds and storm systems form and decay in the Carribean and Gulf sub-tropical regions. Data will be used to help improve weather forecast models.
