NASA Ames engineers Sally Buechel and Ted Hildum prepared to load the Autonomous Modular Scanner into the Ikhana unmanned aircraft’s payload pod. Ikhana, a General Atomics’ Predator B adapted for civil science and technology research missions, flew long-endurance sorties lasting 9 to 10 hours each from its base at NASA’s Dryden Flight Research Center on Edwards Air Force Base.October 23, 2007
