Andrea Mosie: Curating the Moon

Andrea Mosie
Andrea Mosie is a principal scientist who oversees the 842 pounds of Apollo lunar samples.

Imagine being able to touch history, each and every day. For more than four decades, Andrea Mosie had done just that, performing one of the most amazing jobs in this Solar System. She is now the senior scientist specialist who oversees the 842 pounds of Apollo lunar samples. In the 1970s when Mosie began her career in the Astromaterials Research and Exploration Science Division at the Johnson Space Center, she was one of the only women working in her area of curation. Now the section has a number of female scientists responsible for the curation of samples from each of NASA sample return missions.
