A spider photographed during NASA’s Airborne Synthetic Aperture Radar (AirSAR) 2004 Mesoamerica campaign in the La Selva region of the Costa Rican rain forest. The long wavelength, low-frequenty radar signals of AirSAR penetrated through the forest canopy, presenting unprecedented potential for archaeological applications in the tropical environment.March 4, 2004
