It may not be over until it’s over, but you can still celebrate the happiness of getting close.

The company building a laboratory at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia, this week marked nearing completion with a “topping out” ceremony in which a construction beam signed by workers was lowered into place.

The Measurement Systems Laboratory will be a world-class facility for research and development of concepts, technologies and systems to help NASA better understand Earth’s atmosphere, land spacecraft on other worlds and improve air travel.

At four floors and 175,000 square feet, it is the largest of all new Langley facilities planned to date as part of the center’s revitalization plan.
