SAISO and CISO for Cybersecurity & Privacy (Acting)

Tamiko Fletcher is NASA’s Acting Senior Agency Information Security Officer (SAISO) and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for Cybersecurity and Privacy. She has been serving as NASA’s deputy SAISO for several months. Tamiko began her NASA career as a co-op student in 1999 at Kennedy Space Center (KSC). She holds engineering degrees from the University of South Carolina and the University of Miami. Prior to this role she served as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at KSC, previously holding the role of Chief of the KSC IT Security Office. In this capacity, she led transformative initiatives, including revamping the assessment and authorization process, implementing a rigorous vulnerability management system, and establishing a comprehensive, integrative cybersecurity program.

Over her 25-year tenure with NASA, she has contributed to KSC and the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) in numerous leadership roles. She has served as the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) for ODIN Delivery Order – supporting the KSC end-user community; Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Transition Manager for the KSC ACES program following ODIN – leading KSC CIO for the successful transition of nearly 7,000 devices. Additionally, worked in the CIO Technical Integration Office supporting Space Shuttle Transition & Retirement and as IT Lead for the Cape Canaveral Spaceport Management Office, overseeing a $2.7 billion joint NASA/Air Force contract.

Beyond KSC, Tamiko completed a development assignment with the Office of the Administrator in the Office of Agency Council Staff, where she worked closely with NASA’s governing councils and the Baseline Performance Review Board. This experience deepened her understanding of intra-agency collaboration and reinforced the importance of strong relationships and clear communication across mission support teams, from technical assistants and engineering experts to Program Managers and Associate Administrators.

Tamiko’s impact has been recognized both within and beyond NASA. Her accolades include multiple NASA Group Achievement Awards, NSBE Central Florida Professionals Distinguished President Award, a feature in the documentary Do We Belong?, which highlights the experiences of women in cybersecurity, and recognition as one of the 50 Most Important African Americans in Technology. She was named one of the Top 25 Women Chief Information Security Officers in 2024 by Women We Admire.
